Oxygenating Pond Plants play a very essential role in any volume of water as they assist the balance of the pool. Technically, there are many reasons. One is the release of oxygen during daylight hours, benefiting the fish population.
However, remember your school days! In the hours of darkness, Oxygenating Pond Plants release carbon dioxide. Too many of them is detrimental to a heavily stocked pool so keep them under control! Oxygenating Pond Plants are supplied in bunches (see photos). Planting quantity guide 5 bunches per square metre.
Every pond should have a selection of marginal pond plants to provide beauty and colour and to assist in the balance of the pool.
From the showy Caltha Palustris Flore Plena to the magnificent Typha Latifola Variegata, there is a vast selection of Marginal Pond Plants to suit every situation. Plant size is equivalent to a 1 litre pot, knocked out and root washed.
The focal point of the pool, the water lily is available in a vast array of colours and shades. Blooming throughout the summer and providing the necessary shade with leaf cover. Many lilies have attractive markings on their foliage.
There is a large selection of growth patterns akin to the depth required for each variety. From a mere 10cm to 120cm deep. Surface area coverage is from 30cmx30cm to 200cmx200cm. Many lilies will naturally grow deeper if allowed. Position the lily in maximum sun and avoid moving water especially the splash from fountains.
