I have a swimming pond in Greece. The problem is the water is very slightly salty and most plants dont survive. Waterlilies are fine. Oxygenators seems fine and reeds. I've tried Butomus, Caltha, Equisetum and Iris. All have died. We don't have frost, temperatures occasionally down to zero for a day. Summer water temp is up to 25C. Any ideas

Hi, Thanks. No fish, it's a swimming pond so we don't want the droppings. We didn't add the salt, the Greek authority drilled too deeply and hit the sea! The salt is alot less now (it comes through the mains taps!) than it used to be. I realise that it's the salt that's killing the plants (amazing that the waterlilies are very happy) but some aquaria do have salty water for different fish and, although we don't have fish, they do have plants. I just wondered if you might know of plants that are happy in brackish water.
